Housewife and Motherhood

 (Isn't he adorable!)
Yesterday, I decided even though it's my vacation I was going to be productive.  I woke up early, and deep cleaned the house:  floors, dishes, laundry, bedroom, living room, bathroom, trash, made lunch, finished setting up for Christmas, caught a movie with the hubby, and then went to visit family.  I WAS EXHAUSTED!  Then while visiting Maia, my sister-in-law, Mike volunteers to have her son, aka our nephew, aka Luke spend the night...Are you kidding me, and where am I going to find that energy.  (Trust me I LOVE my nephew, but I was just very tired.)  Luke was hungry, so we had dinner.  There was a mess, so I had to clean that up.  Mike had to get up very early for work today, so that left me in charge.  Luke decided to wake up at 6:00am (we went to bed a little after midnight)...Did you know it was vacation, and you are suppose to sleep in?  The house is already a mess again, and I started cleaning again...but then I got tired.  How in heavens name do you housewife moms do it?!?!?!  Mike and I keep our house clean, but we clean at night time and just a little bit at a time...oh and there is only two of us.  I wake up early everyday around 3:45am, but it would be nice to sleep in someday.  I know motherhood is the most selfless position there is, but seriously it was exhausted these past two days.  And of course I am already failing this motherhood thing bc I am blogging while Luke is glued to the TV.  Yikes!  I guess I better be a better example and go find some other entertainment.
PS I didnt take a shower until 2pm yesterday-sick-how do yall find time for even a shower.  I seriously respect you housewife/moms way more today.  I am "thankful" for you.

(check, check, check, check, check, check)

Heaven From Japan

During one of my study abroads to London SEVEN years ago, I lived on High Street Kensington.  This street is like having NYC on a street.  HEAVEN!  One of my favorite stores on that street is MUJI.  It's full of stationary, pens, organization kits, bath supplies, etc.  My friend Stephanie and I would go there nearly daily.  I fell in love with their Bath Salt Milk.  It smells like honey and milk...which might sound like an odd combo, but trust me it's AMAZING!  Back to the story...I purchased two bottles.  I have used them VERY sparingly over the years...mainly for pampering time or when I have an upset tummy or when I can't sleep....I pour this heavenly goodness into my bath, and my troubles melt away.  A month ago I finally reached the bottom of my last bottle.  (I am very proud for making this last this long.) I checked MUJI's website to see if they sell online...they do, but not Bath Salt Milk.  I checked EBAY...no luck.  Since I can't just jump on a plane to Japan (where MUJI store originates), I came up with a brilliant idea!  My brother-in-law flies to Japan quite frequently for business.  I asked if he could pick up a bottle or two for me on his next trip, and he did.  I received my package in the mail today from him with two beautiful bottles of Bath Milk Salt.  LOVE it and love him for sending it...thanks again.  A lot has changed in 7 years...new bottle more grams (score), but still same great smell...now ladies I am off to take a bath.

A Better Edward

You see Edward in the movies looks nothing like what he should!  Chris (Elizabeth's husband) knew I was disappointed with Edward and Jacob (he looks like a buff teenager...a tad too young for me), so he made a better Edward for me.  Isn't he dreamy!  Meet Mikey Cullen.

FYI

I decided to change my "healthier me" weekly post to every 5 weeks.  This means I will update my readers on December 20.  Hopefully....I can stay accountable to myself for that long, but I am pretty determined that I will.  (I am a Rhyne...let's not forget.)

An Overdue Visit

Mike and I have been trying to catch up with our friends the Johnson family for a few months now, but our schedule never matched up. They had a baby girl in July...Miss "Tiny". Last night we finally matched our schedules up. I was able to meet Miss "Tiny", and she is adorable! It took her a LONG time to warm up to me, but we finally became friends. Davian was so sweet and thoughtful and made us a super YUMMY dinner that was gluten free...how cool is that! We chatted for a few hours, and it was good to catch up. Thanks for dinner again, and we must get together again soon. Miss "Tiny" will miss me too much. (Sorry I forgot to take any pictures, but you can see how cute she is on their blog HERE.)

Week Ten-No Tutu Yet

So for week ten isn’t it fitting that I lost 0.1 lbs this week.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!  I decided there was not a need to change my side bar to 11.1 lost.  To be honest there were lots of things against me.  I was under the weather at the beginning of the week, report cards on do on Monday-YIKES, baby shower-with yummy treats, and our friends had us over for a super delicious dinner...so in the end I am happy I went down and not up!  I really didn’t get on board with exercise this week like I promised...So here is to week 11.  Exercise is MANDATORY!  Maybe I will even take up ballet-HA, I don’t think a tutu would agree with my body right now.
